Johanna Anderson
Lead Preschool Teacher
Johanna graduated from Central Washington University in 2006 with a BA in Family and Consumer Sciences, focusing on family studies with a minor in psychology. She also completed an occupational therapy assistant degree in 2012.
She worked for the Chelan School District as a lead preschool teacher for the ECEAP and special education program from 2007-2012. After becoming a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA), she spent 5 years working in sub-acute rehab and home healthcare.
After having her second baby she stepped away from health care to focus on raising her 2 girls and 1 boy. During this time, she volunteered in the Preschool at Roots frequently. She then became the assistant preschool teacher with Sarah Whitehall. Now she is the lead pre-k teacher in the 4-5 year old preschool program.
A few words from Johanna:
“I feel so blessed to be a part of Roots Community School. I am honored to work with a group of people who are so passionate about learning and guiding children through the process of becoming humble, tenacious, and innovative learners. I am excited to be a part of the preschool where I can use my skills and education for both early learning and occupational therapy. I am eager to help support and guide our youngest learners to develop their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills to give them a strong foundation for a love of learning that will carry them through their years of education.”
